1、如果不把as换成was,这句话就没有谓语,是不成立的.至于逗号问题,是published...这个短语前后各有一个逗号,以标示这个短语是插入语,你可以去掉插入语再看,句子仍然是完整的.能理解吧?
2、也是错在没有谓语的问题,需要把forgetting 换成 forget 或 have forgot.
