New management systems will have to be devised to en¬sure that such large quantities of wind power are integrated smoothly into the national electricity grid.In the Nordic system with large hydro capacities,Denmark is very well situated to integrate its growing wind power capacities into the Scandinavian electricity system.It has been proposed by various studies,commissioned by government agencies to exploit the excess quantities of hydropower produced in neighboring Norway.When the wind blows the strongest,the hydro reservoirs would be turned down; when the wind dies down,they would be opened up again.Such adjustments are possible in a matter of seconds.
