Spring Festival is coming. What will you do to celebrate? Have a big dinner, light fireworks (鞭炮) and? yes, watch the Spring Festival Evening Party! Since 1984, when CCTV held its first Spring Festival Party, the evening event has been an indispensable (不可或缺的) part of the big festival. On Spring Festival Eve, families will gather around the table and chat over rich dishes. But at 8 pm, when the party begins, people all over the country will move from the table to the TV.The party usually lasts six hours. The programme includes much singing and dancing. Young people can watch some of their favourite pop stars. Last year, they were Hong Kong singer Jessie Chan and Taiwan singer Jolin Tsai. There also are funny cross talks (相声) and short plays.But some have found parts of the party less exciting. "I hope there will be less group dancing and singing," said Li Mingshu, 13, from Liaoning. "These are boring."To meet people's expectations (期望), CCTV will collect programme ideas through the Internet next year. People can give advice and also vote for the best ideas. Then CCTV will put the best on the Spring Festival stage .
