where 在定语从句中的用法跟that的区别
我是刚中考完的学生,正在看高一的英语教材.
书里面有关于定语从句的知识初中的老师曾经有讲过,当时概念还算清楚
有这两句话：
This is the hospital where my mother works.
This is the hospital which / that we spent together in Xueyao Middle School.
两句话中分别用where和which / that ,我有点搞不懂,这两个词有什么区别,
不好意思,第二句输错了...
This is the hospital which/that we visited the day before yesterday.

关键是看定语从句中的动词,比如第一句,where my mother works这里的work是不及物动词,即要说成work in the hospital才对,这样where=in which.第二句中的动词是spent, 需要宾语,这样which/that就是宾语了
再问： 嚯呀==不好意思，我第二句貌似输错了... This is the hospital which/that we visited the day before yesterday. 你的意思应该就是说看句子里面的动词对吧？如果说是不及物动词，既然不能后跟宾语，所以用where ？
再答： 没错，看动词，但是如果人家从句中给的是不及物动词，但是也给出了介词，就要当心了，如果把第一句改成：This is the hospital ___ my mother works in,是不是还得填which或that。
再问： 我怎么觉得这种题应该不会出...我不知道我想的对不对哦，总觉得你举得这个例子如果填which或that的话是可以省略的...
