演员塑造角色,其中最难的在于自我与角色之间的关系的处理.首先要区分自我与角色,了解自我与角色之间的区别,将自我隐藏,让自己称谓角色,才能更好的创造角色,思想和情绪的反映才能完全的从内心和任务出发,这也就是我们表演的实质.演员自身与将要塑造的角色之间也存在必然的联系,不能合二为一,却又不可分割.演员本身为创造者,又是创造体现的工具,也是创造出来的成品,可谓一身兼多任.只有自我没有角色的表演就只能是自我展示,自我扩张.演员的内部技巧和外部技巧其间有区别又有联系,正式体验与表现的辩证关系.我结合了自己的学习和表演的经历,从一个表演者的角度来对角色与演员进行研究.讨论了演员与角色的关系,既有矛盾对立的一面,又有和谐统一的一面,应该辩证地看.也就是：理解角色是体现、塑造角色的前提；体现角色是理解角色的结果.
