I want to express the rectitude of the International Olympic Committee and the entire Olympiad movement to all five candidate cities as well as the five other applicant cities for the excellence of their work and for their dedication to the cause of the Olympics. One city only will be designated. But the achievement of all others is to be commended.
And now, the result of the vote is the games of the 29th Olympiad in 2008 are awarded to the city of Beijing.
