A girl complained to her father about her bad life.She didn’t know what she had to do and wanted to give up.She felt tired for fighting and fighting.One problem had been finished but the other would come again.
Her father took her into the kitchen.Then he put some water into three pans and boiled them.After boiling,in the first pan was put with some carrots,the second was put with some eggs and the last was put with coffee.He waited for a few minutes without any words.
The girl was surprised by what her father did.After about 20 minutes,her father turned off the stove took out the carrots and put them in a bowl.He put the eggs in another bowl.After that coffee was poured into a cup.
Turning back to her daughter.He asked,“My sweetheart,what do you see?” “Carrots,eggs,and coffee,” she replied.
Her father asked her to touch the carrots.She did it and felt that the carrots were soft.After that she was asked to take the eggs and break them.She got the cooked eggs and found it difficult to do that.Then ,the father asked her to smell coffee.She can’t help asking,“What’s the meaning,Father?” Then the father explained that each thing had had the same unfortunate,the boiling water,but different result .She strong and hard carrots became delicious in the boiling water.The eggs became hard after cooked.Coffee was very special,became it could change water.“Who are you?” asked her father,“When the unfortunate knocks your door,what is your reaction?Are you carrots,eggs,or coffee?”

父亲让她摸一摸胡萝卜,女儿发现它们变软了；父亲又叫她拨开鸡蛋,女儿发现鸡蛋变得又硬又有弹性；父亲又让她问一问咖啡的香味.女儿终于忍不住发问了“父亲,”父亲解释说,这三样东西都遭遇了开水煮过的悲惨遭遇,但是它们的变化却都不同：胡萝卜坚硬不再,变得又软又美味；鸡蛋变硬；咖啡却是特殊的,因为它反过来把水都改变了.父亲又问“你是哪一样呢?当不幸降临于你,你该怎样应对?是像胡萝卜那样?还是鸡蛋?又或是咖啡?”
