文学翻译中的转译与改编都属于特殊型创造性叛逆,它们的共同特点是都使原作经受了“二度变形”.
转译又叫重译,指的是借助一种外语去翻译另一外语国的文学作品.这种形式的翻译,无论中外古今,都很普遍.在大多数情况下,转译是不得已而为之的,尤其是在翻译非通用语种国家的文学作品时,因为任何国家也不可能拥有一批通晓各种非通用语种的译者.然而文学翻译又是如此复杂,译者们在从事具有再创造性质的文学翻译时,不可避免地要融入译者本人对原作的理解和阐述,甚至融入译者的语言风格、人生经验乃至个人气质,因此,通过媒介语转译其他国家的文学作品之所以会产生“二度变形”,也就不难理解了.此外,转译还具体地展示了译语国对外国文学的主观选择与接受倾向.
文学翻译中的改编,不单指作品文学样式、体裁的改变,同时还包括语言、文字的转换.改编通常出现在诗歌、剧本的翻译之中,其叛逆仅在于文学作品的样式、体裁的变化上,但是对原作内容的传达却比较忠实,尤其是严谨的翻译家,例如方重翻译的《坎特伯雷故事集》和朱生豪翻译的莎剧,因为摆脱了诗体的束缚,译作对原作的内容反倒易于表达的比较透彻和全面.当然,由于文学翻译中普遍存在的创造性叛逆,即使是严谨的改遍翻译,在作品内容的传达上照样有变形现象.
文学翻译中译者的创造性叛逆有多种表现,但概括起来不外乎两种类型:有意识型和无意识型.翻译决不是一维性的创作,而是文化与美学体系的相互渗透,译者是传情达意的积极参与者,是作者的合作者.我们只有了解了这些创造性叛逆的表现,才能做到更好地翻译,把原作的精神和面貌忠实地复制出来.
