1 People don’t understand me. They call my Kitty, Pussycat, Cat-dear, and a lot of other funny names. People don’t seem to realize that I am only a cat! I am not kitty, or the sweet little Pussycat, or the big, fat cat, I am just a cat!
The box is in bad order and this is ye another problem. If you insist on me having a little out-of-order box, I will use it, but I insist that it remain clean. That means I use it , you clean it. If you don’t keep my house clean and tidy, I will keep your house dirty, got it?
Still another problem is about my food. I don’t want bones of a fish, I want fish itself, and you take the bones. If my food is not good enough, I will become ill at once, and that means it will take a lot of your money to treat me.
So, you see, I am a cat, just a cat. I am not your toy (玩具) . I will not stay off the furniture, or out of your bed in the middle of the night. I need my food full, my water filled, and the door open when I want it. This is simply the way I need to have may life; this is what I do, and what I don’t do. This is me, and I am a cat!

2 In the United States, many people once lived in large, two-and-three-storied ( 楼层) homes. Today, many American people would like to live in such houses but most can’t. they usually don’t have enough money to buy them or even to make the first payment. So many people have to rent from month to month. But some Americans really want to live in a house of their own. So they buy a house that lies in an area where houses are cheaper. It is better to live in a bad place of town, they think, than not to live in a house at all. Or they buy an old house and design it again. Then they fill it with old-style furniture. Sometimes they can make an old house look more beautiful than a new one.
Usually it is not difficult for people to find an old house to buy, because many older people think that they don’t need a big house after their children leave house. So they sell their house and move into a comfortable room. But when people move into a house, they sometimes may have problems. Homeowners have to do their own job. For example, if the roof leaks (漏) ,one can not ask the landlord to fix it. On the other hand, people can design their houses again in any way that they want without having to be afraid of being driven out of the house by the landlord.
