A few years ago at the Seattle Special Olympics,nine contestants-all physically or mentally disabled-waited at the starting line for the 100-meter race.
At the gun,they all started out,except one little boy who stumbled,fell to the ground,tumbled over a couple of times and began to cry.Hearing the cry,the other athletes slowed down,looked down,looked back,turned around and went back.Then all nine linked arms and walked to the finish line together.
There are more important things in life than merely winning for ourselves.What matters more is helping others win-even if that means slowing down and changing our course.
