1.The Advantages and Disadvantages of Internet
The following aspects could best illustrate the advantages of Internet. Netsurfers (网上冲浪者) in different countries can share interesting knowledge and the latest information. Besides, Internet has provided a major opportunity to buy and sell merchandise (商品). What is more, people may get medical help or even vote on Internet. Its advantages seem countless.
Behind all this glowing talk, however, are some problems. Internet makes people passive by stopping them making their own entertainment. So much so that when there is a breakdown or jam, people may find that World Wide Web turns into World Wide Wait. What is worse, some children have access to the scenes of violence and sex. Apart from these, it can be affected by viruses(病毒) and hackers (黑客).
We should handle its problems, meanwhile we should exploit its potential as well. With proper management of Internet people ought to experience more fruits of the information revolution. All the wisdom of the ages, all the information that has enlightened mankind for centuries, should be available to us with the healthy development of Internet.

2.My favourite festival
My favourite festival is the Spring Festival. Why? Because I have lots of fun at the Spring Festival.
The Spring Festival is a popular holiday in our country. It is in January or February. Our family get together. We have a big dinner at my grandparents’ home. I always eat a lot of delicious food. My cousin and me both get red packets from our grandparents. My parents usually go shopping with me. We buy some nice clothes for ourselves. We often watch TV at home and sometimes read books or surf the Internet. Sometimes, we greet other people on the phone.
I’m always happy at the Spring Festival. Which is your favourite festival?
3.Environment Protection
We live in the world every day. We eat food, drink water, wear clothes, watch TV, use computers and so on. We are producing waste every moment.
Generally speaking, there are four sorts of waste. They are material waste, organic waste, inorganic waste and poisonous & harmful waste. Now, we are going to talk about each sort of waste one by one.
Material waste: it means the waste of substance or things from which something else can be made. For example, people throw away the used metal products and buy a new one, so the old metal waste accumulates. At last, they become waste.
Organic waste: it refers to waste from living things, including waste from animals, plants and people. Some parts of vegetables are thrown away as waste because they don’t taste good.
Actually, we also have inorganic waste, the opposite to organic waste, including building waste, broken pottery and china, and cinder.
4.An Unforgetable Traveling Experience
Last summer, I went to Beidaihe for my holiday with my family. We took a train because the way is not far. We lived in a big hotel where could see the sea . We stayed there for three days.
The first day, we went for a walk along the seaside, and then we went swimming and took a lot of interesting photos there. The second day, we went to a famous market and bought many keepsakes. I was going to bring these keepsakes for my friends. The last day, we had a good picnic on the seaside with the natives. They acted all kinds of programmes and made us feel happy.
It’s a very good journey, and we all enjoyed ourselves on those days. If I have another holiday, I will go there again.
An Unforgettable Experience
I like traveling very much. My trip to XiAn is really unforgettable. Before I went there, I always wanted to see Bin Ma Yong, so I chose to go there. I went to there by train with my parents and I had breakfast in the hotel. Then we went there by bus. When I got off the bus, I was very excited. I saw a lot of false man whose hand with all kinds of things. I took many pictures. Finally we went back the hotel in the afternoon. Though I was very tired, I felt very happy. I dwill never forget it for ever.
5.The Person I most admire:
The person I most admire is my father. My dad and I have been very close the past few years and he has earned my respect by treating me as an adult, even when I did not deserve it. Because he expected me to act like an adult, I had to assume the responsibilities and maturities of one in our relationship. My dad has supported three children and a wife on his job as a stock broker through expensive elementary private schools, ivy league colleges, and every endeavor we have ever wanted to embark on. His main message to me growing up was to find something that I really wanted and go for it, not letting anything hold me back. If I was ever compassionate about something, my dad was always there supporting me. He has impressed me not just the way he was able to raise three children, but also his commitment to his morals and ideals throughout the whole process. My father is firm in his views on receiving a good education and has never allowed any excuse for doing less than excellent. One day I hope that I can have the same relationship with my children, one of mutual respect and gratitude.
6.My School Life(学校名字改成你那的)
We have studied in Songpu High School for several months. When I first went into the school gate and saw my new classroom and teachers I thought I would have a new start . The school life is very busy and exciting. There are many activities in our school, Such as Sports Meeting, Science Week and Art Week and so on. We all take an active part in it . I have made many new friends and we often help and learn from each other in study. Our teachers have taught us a lot . They not only teach us how to study but also teach us how to be a useful person in society. They tell us is a thing is worth doing, it is worth doing well and many other things. Habit is a second nature, so teachers often remind us to make a good habit.
People often said: There is no royal to learning. Now I feel it is true. The study now is far more different than before. I often find there are something difficult to understand at once. At this time, you must spend a lot of time studying by yourself or you won't make progress. Of course study is hard but when you make progress you'll find it is interesting.
Our school is clean and beautiful. There are many trees and flowers around it. In order to make our school more and more beautiful we should try our best to keep it clean. Don't throw rubbish on the ground. We are members of Songpu High school.
Today we are pound of Songpu, tomorrow Songpu will be prounded of us.
7.An important person to me
Personlly speaking,I feel the most important person in my life is my mother. It is she who has successfully taught me how to be a useful man in the competitive world. As we all know, a mother plays an important role in the growth of her child.Maybe you think a father can do more for his child. But the fater's figuer sometimes makes me hard to get close to.While I am dowm or feel confused, I want to talk with my moter. Therefore,I think my mother is the most important personn in my daily life.
8.my ideal college
In my understanding, if we refer to an ideal college life as a formal western dinner, then a high GPA, that is, Grade Point Average, should be the main course, while an active part in activities, together with associations, means the appetizer. Some romances, of course, play the role as desserts. They are the 3 key elements for an ideal college life.
Those, however, are not what college life is all about. As we all know, college is wildly different from middle school. It connects not only adolescence to adulthood, but also the ivory tower to the real society. Therefore, the ideal college life is that I become matured both physically and mentally, and that I obtain qualified academic knowledge and get well prepared for society at the same time.
Under this circumstance, I never expect my college life to be too ideal, or you can call it too perfect. It is not realistic to make all things on my own way, with everyone liking me, winning the first prize all the time, and so on. Of course, I’d like to lead a carefree life. However, this does little good to my future. What really helps is hardships like failure, betrayal, and unjust treatment. Only after experiencing those can I know what society is like, and what life is like.
To conclude my speech, I wanna say, some positive experiences are surely part of the ideal college life. But, I should not forget about the negative sides. They are not less necessary.
9.My future job
I have never thought of my future job before, not because I don't care, but because I don't even have a clue. This morning, when I woke up, suddenly, I felt a kind of worry.
If I work in a company, then the work wounld not exhaust my master's knowlege. Plus, it is very tough working in a company, much pressure and competition. If I work in a college, it would be boring to death. All day long, I have to deal with books and students. If i work in a law firm. it would be even tougher than in a company. I have to learn many things. I know then I will lose my own world and no fun at all.
I'm not sure whether it is a good choice of studying for a master's degree. I'm always writing papers, reading boring stuff...now I think i have trouble of getting a job. I don't even know what I wanna do in the near future.
It would be nice to go to Shanghai, but the pressure and competition are out of my imagination!
10.Being a Volunteer
How time flies! Three years has passed since the last Olympic Games in 2004. The most exciting time for Chinese is coming, because the 2008 Olympic Games will be held in Beijing. It shows that our country is becoming stronger and stronger, and it will attract a number of foreigners to our country. It is not only a chance to show the great changes in China to the world, but also a great challenge for our country.
Everyone in China is trying his best to get ready for the most important event in the near future. Look, there is an old man who is listening to the radio. Believe it or not, he is learning English instead of listening to his favorite play. As a student in a middle school, what should we do before the Olympic Games? The answer is: “Being a volunteer is great!”
First of all, doing something useful to keep our environment clean is necessary. We can help the cleaners clean up the streets, parks, rivers and so on. We can also tell the little children to throw rubbish into the dustbin.
Second, we must follow the traffic rules. Wait till the traffic lights turn green. Don’t jump the line when waiting for buses.
Third, we should learn to be polite and friendly to others. Have you ever offered your seat to a woman with a baby? Have you ever helped an old man carry his heavy bag? And have you ever given a hand to a disabled person? Help those who are in trouble, and our society will become more and more beautiful.
Finally, Learning English well is helpful. China is a great country with an old history and it has a lot of things attracting foreigners. In 2008, we can use English to help people all over the world understand more about China.
The 2008 Olympic Games is the pride of us. If everyone makes his or her contribution, it will be more successful. So get ready and join us!
11.The Most Ipressive Film I've Seen
What can I say about Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver that hasn't been said better by a thousand other writers ? Well, the answer is not much, but I do want to share some of my thoughts about this extraordinary piece of filmmaking; a film which, twenty four years after its first release, is still provocative and deeply disturbing to watch.
In summary, the plot is like a hundred other vigilante flicks. A traumatised Vietnam veteran, Travis Bickle (De Niro), suffering from chronic insomnia, takes up cab driving to while away the endless nights alone. Becoming obsessed by the filth and sleaze of New York City, he tries to find some kind of panacea for his disgust. First, he tries love, in the form of Betsy (Shepherd), a beautiful campaign worker for presidential candidate Charles Palantine (Harris). When this relationship immediately fails during the first date, when he takes her to a pornographic movie, he looks for another cure for his misanthropy, and when he meets a 13 year old prostitute, Iris (Foster), he decides to become her saviour in whatever way he can. This leads to an sickeningly violent conclusion, and one of the most chillingly ambiguous final scenes in film history.
12.How I Spend the Last Spring Festival
Today is the first working day of 2006. How's your mood? Tired from your continuous celebration parties? Or sleepy from those sleepless nights? Haha... Welcome back.
Well, the past Spring Festival was a great time for me although my job bothered me for several times and I had to go back to the office to take care of some emergencies. Anyway, I went to a temple fair with my family on the first day of New Year. There were so many people out there and they're so happy to have fun there.
On the third day, we went to watch a stage drama called " the last love master " played by Ms. Tao Hong and his husband Mr. Xu Zheng. I didn't think that they two were going to play the whole drama just by themselves, which took 2 and half hours to finish. They were great and humorous. People laughed all through the show.
On the fifth day, we went KTV with some friends. Can you believe that we sang 130 songs in about 7 hours. That's the best record in my life. Hehe... Really cool!!!
Now how about you guys? How did you spend your holidays and what do you feel about it? Share with us, please.
