这个句子错误在哪
I gave the book to him that he needed it.
我觉得错误应该是从句跟错了先行词,然后还多了个it 因为that已经代替it做needed的宾语了.我改的是如下：
I gave the book that he needed to him.
但是我看答案的该法是：I gave the book to him that he needed（仅仅是去掉了it）.还是我一开始理解错了?定语从句不是应该紧跟先行词么.这里先行词应该是book把?

定语从句后面很少再接东西的介词短语放在give的后面
i gave the book to him
然后是什么书呢? the book he need
i gave the book to him which he needed.
再问：对啊，什么书呢？那个定语从句也肯定是修饰书的。可是不是说定语从句必须要跟在他修饰的先行词后面么。
你前面说定语从句后面不接东西，可是定语从句后面借东西我见很多都这样啊比如：The people who live next to me are my friend。我理解是：定语从句就是他修饰的那个名词的一部分，他后面接不接东西，跟定语从句没关系。我理解的有问题么？还请指导。

i gave the book (that he needed) to him 这样也是对的
再问：后面又出现了一道题是这样的：
The woman was nice that i met yesterday.
答案强调该句子有错的改法就是：
The woman that i met yesterday was nice.
你看这里他特意强调要把定语从句从句末拉到先行词后面。但是上一题他却把定语从句放到句末。。目前只能理解为to him不算句子成分，可以摆放随意位置。。
