Life is what we try to make beautiful. Everyone yearns to live a happy life. If happiness is our common ultimate goal, the best and most reliable means to attain the end, at least it seems to me, involves how to take all sorts of unhappiness%26mdash;emotional problems, sense of failures, losses, and so forth%26mdash;in a correct and universally acceptable manner.
That life is a destiny controlled utterly by the Lord, or a doomed thing predetermined even before we are born is an assumption held widely among the youth, though people today are far removed from barbarity. Having such a pessimistic outlook on life, they never fight violently against the problems compromising their interests when they come their way but apt to bear the blows and do nothing proactively. They are always complaining %26ldquo;what a dire misery my life is!%26rdquo; or %26ldquo;how hopeless and wretched I am!%26rdquo; Yet it never occurs to them, it seems, that they have the power to change their life and they still have options to choose to live their desired life, if they are willing to desert their inveterate thoughts about life and learn from their wise counterparts.
Wise people, not necessarily intellectually sharp but basically socially capable of going about business in life, never fail to live a life of high quality. When frustrations befall them, they face them undauntedly, not only because they think such things as called adversities are so natural as not to be able to be uprooted, nor evaded but also they can benefit them in a way that favorable circumstances can never do. If they fail in doing something, they reflect upon their failure, trying to learn the lessons; if they are bereaved of parents, they regard themselves part of human community from which they can still get love; if they are misunderstood by others, they firmly believe facts will arise sooner or later. They never cry over the spilt milk%26mdash;what has been lost is irrevocably lost! By and large, they embrace life passionately, facing rough and smooth alike as it comes.
To end up, only when we get a full understanding of unhappiness in life and have a good knowledge of how to deal with it is it possible for us to live a happy life. More importantly, a deeper appreciation of the nature of life will definitely enable us to be more aware of our sense of our values and our unique potential contributions to our community.
